From Nightmare to Hope: Eagles Futsal and Pittini Dream of a Great Escape!

“A Disastrous Campaign… But a Formative One”

When asked about how the season has gone and what to expect in the final two matches of the regular season, Pittini didn’t sugarcoat it:

“It’s been a disastrous season. I thought I’d seen it all at my age, but this year really pushed us to the edge. At Christmas, we were dead last—survival felt like a fantasy. Now we’ve secured a spot in the play-out, and we’ll fight till the end.”

Pittini described how the team was rebuilt at midseason, after only managing 4 points in the first half. The shake-up gave the Eagles a fighting chance:

“These last two games aren’t crucial for points, but they are vital for mindset. We need to go into the play-out believing. I’m reducing training this week and next—we can’t overload a fragile team. We’ll rotate the squad and even give minutes to third-string goalkeeper Di Nucci, who has earned it with his dedication.”

🟥 Looking Ahead: A Play-Out Showdown Against Neugries?

The likely opponent in the play-out is Neugries, a team Pittini respects but believes is beatable:

“Our biggest enemy? Ourselves. Too often we’ve collapsed mentally after conceding a goal. We don’t have top-tier quality, but we absolutely have enough to be in a better position. We’ve relied on individual brilliance too much. Luck and refereeing can’t be excuses—if you’re in the game, you have to win it.”

🎯 What It Takes to Survive

When asked what will be required in the play-out, Pittini was clear:

“You win these games with players who go beyond limits. We’ll need moments of individual brilliance. I’ll give everything—I’ll die on the pitch with my players if I have to. If you’d told me at the start of the season we’d be fighting to stay up, I’d have laughed. Now it’s our reality.”

🟢 Youth Impact and the Future

Despite the struggles, Pittini praised the club’s youth system:

“Full credit to the youth coach—he’s built a fantastic group. The goal should be to develop players for the first team. Guys like Petris are now regulars. The path is right, and the future looks bright. I’m not the right guy to grow young players—I’ve always coached to win—but others can. We need to invest in youth.

⚪ A Coach’s Personal Battle

For a coach who has always fought for titles, this season has been a different kind of challenge:

“It’s my first time fighting to avoid relegation. I handpicked the squad. Some choices didn’t work out, like our foreign player—I fought to bring Rok, but I was wrong. It hurts. My wife has lived through a nightmare this year. But I’ve done my rituals for survival, and I still believe.”

🧠 Veterans Will Be Key

Veteran players like Barile and Turolo are expected to be difference-makers:

“Barile is my field general. He’s like a son to me. He’ll get minutes against Verona. These games are won by players with talent and experience. Last Saturday I got myself sent off to try and wake the team up—sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. But I never stop trying.”

🔥 Final Emotions: Jekyll and Hyde

As the Eagles enter a decisive month, Pittini shared a mix of weariness and passion:

“I’m Jekyll and Hyde. I’ve already made up my mind about next season, but until then I’ll give 2000%. This team was my idea, together with the president. When it’s over, I’ll decide whether to be a grandfather or keep coaching. But I need excitement—without it, I can’t give my best.”

And finally, a heartfelt plea:

“It’s sad playing at home with only 40 fans. Futsal hasn’t taken off here, even though we play in the beautiful PalaGesteco—a real luxury. We have to win, even if it means doing it barefoot and with an ingrown toenail. Survival is everything.

🦅 Eagles Futsal: Not Dead Yet

The message from Tita Pittini is crystal clear: this team may be bruised, but it’s not broken. The road to salvation is steep, but with heart, talent, and leadership, the Eagles will fight to write one last, incredible chapter in this emotional journey.
